*first ever vinyl reissue of the 1998 classic*
Over the years, the rising interest in Japanese electronic music from the 80s and 90s has seen a tremendous growth, with genres like new age, city pop, ambient and techno all boasting pockets of lesser-known artists that didn't get distributed nor pressed on certain formats at the time. One such album from the late 90s was Landform Code by Virgo (Not to be confused with the Detroit techno artist with the same name), originally a CD only release that's commanded high prices on the second hand market pretty much ever since. Musically, the album is a great example with the ambient techno movement that begin just a few years before this. A style that has continued to grow in popularity. Tracks like 'Arcadia' with its laid back Detroit melodic elements or the achingly beautiful 'System For Zodiac', this is sure to sit next to iconic albums of the similar quality like John Beltran's 'Ten Days Of Blue'. The album is littered with emotive machine music that is perfect for a rainy day or drive along the hillside. These are the times where reissues are so amazing. 27 years later, we get this lesser known gem to celebrate.
